Depression remedies

I am seasonally depressed. Please help me find ways to help get me out of bed and to work and school. Other than the usual - “stop being lazy,” “get your ass up,” “force yourself.” It’s not that easy.

I have horrible horrible horrible depression and tried almost every drug and nothing else seems to work

My husband is going through some personal issues and is having difficulties with work and home and is taking time off to seek therapy and “work” on himself. His Dr. suggested putting him on disability for depression, which would last for up to a year, to give him time to heal and figure out what to do with his life. We are concerned, however, that this label could affect him in the future and require him to disclose it at future jobs or cause problems for healthcare coverage etc…We just want to make sure he won’t be discriminated later for this choice. Does anyone one have any information about the implications for going on disability for mental issues?

A friend of mine has terrible depression that is controlled by medication. Even though it is being treated, she still has her good and bad days. It has affected everything in her life and she finds it difficult to work. The problem is made worse by the fact that employer after employer seems to see her problem as a character flaw. Can she claim for some kind of disability insurance? I know people who are on disability for other kinds of chronic illnesses. Does depression count?

Its been suggested that I get a theraputic companion animal for mom. I am concerned that my apartment manager may ask me to move from our “no pets” complex if I do. Can anyone direct me to a website with info on disabled persons rights to have companion animals in California? Is there a specific form for the doctor to fill out? Is there any state or federal licensure requirements? What kind of animals qualify as companion animals? Is there a specific type of doctor to see? Thank for taking the time to read my question.

im talking about bad depression a feeling of hopelessness all the time. can you work part time if you collect disability?

–21 years old, college student–don’t really like my major…
–never really had close friends growing up
–Extremely sad sometimes (been like that for years now)
–Also can be extremely happy and funny…I laugh a lot
–Most of the time, I find no meaning in life, and think we’re all just going to die, so what the hell does it matter what I do with my life?
–never had interest in sex, never been in a relationship
–i’m extremely introspective and like to think about and reflect on stuff.
–extremely philosophical…like to look at deep quotes from philosophers
–not sure of my identity–don’t really know who I am.
–I’m trying to really love myself
–Developed a skin disorder that messed up my face for a while at the end of high school and beginning of college..it was a time of extreme stress from applying to college
–sometimes I have fleeting suicidal thoughts of what it would be like to die..never serious though

I’m being treated and have seen several dr.’s about it!
