Are these signs of depression?

Last September I got married and four months later he left me and I’m going through a divorce right now. Since February I have had 2 failed relationships which were great when they were great and then out of no where got really bad.
I used to be the life of the party, lots of friends always something to do. Now I can’t get myself off the couch. I have no desire to to talk to anyone or do anything. Going to work is such a burden. I never have any good thoughts going through my head. I spend most of the day thinking about how it could be possible to just dissapear but then I get more depressed about it because I realize there is no way I could just get up and leave. Thought of driving my car off a cliff go through my head. I don’t bother to do my hair or dress up nicely anymore and that’s very unlike me.
Can this be just because I’ve had a really rough year or are these signs of clinical depression?

Are violent and sporadic mood swings a sign of clinical depression?

Sometimes I have very intense mood swings that can sometimes be a little violent. They don’t just come out of no where, little things will bug me and eventually I’ll get set off and just be enraged. Is this a sign of depression?
I am about to turn 20 years old and have been experiencing the mood swings for the past few years. They are off-and-on. Maybe a handful of times every two months.

They are promoting brain implants for combating depression etc.
Here we see more BBC propaganda related to the promotion of brain implants. The clip starts off pushing the idea of merging man and machine, and arguing that this “may represent the highest stage in the mastery of intelligence”. Then we are shown “Deep Brain Stimulation” - electrodes are implanted into the brain of a woman suffering from severe long-term depression. She is referred to as “desperate”, so as to make the idea of this man-machine merger less troublesome for the average viewer …
